Music Memory

Apparently, music memory is a strong thing. This Christmas, ChoirGuy has us singing Vivaldi's Gloria. Nice ditty. I sang it once before, many, many years ago, as a freshman in college.

People, this is like a walk through the twilight zone. I am singing from memory. It seems like just yesterday that I put this music down. And as we are singing along, I am having the oddest memories and cravings. Nickel beer, for one. And crazy freshmen fantasies.

Youth is wasted on the young.

I remember every note of the alto part of that song from when I was about 16 years old.

You can sing? Ah, had I the talent! I LOVE to sing, but don't ask any of my friends or family what it's like to be around me when I'm happy. I whistle, too...very badly! BTW, please don't forget Sx3 tomorrow! Consider your funnybone tickled in advance!
