One of the True Heroes of the Business

I loved to watch him during the election season; I can't believe he died today. God bless his family as they cope with their unexpected loss.

I miss him already. This truly breaks my heart, and I knew that if anyone else cared, it would be teachergirl.

Cupcake: what are we going to do? I am just heartbroken. I can't believe it. I am watching MSNBC and I just can't believe they are talking about Tim.

I cried when Tom announced this sad news. Seriously. I loved Tim on Meet the Press, and I loved him more after he showed us more of himself with his dad. Such a sad day.

Debbie: He had come back home without his family; NBC waited to release the news until they found Maureen and Luke in Italy. And the other networks waited until Tom Brokaw made the announcement. I am so, so sad.

teach: What ARE we going to do? There aren't many class acts left in journalism. There was Tim, and all we have now is Tom Brokaw and Charlie Gibson. Katie Couric was not fit to tie Tim Russert's shoes. Neither, in my never humble opinion, are Barbara Walters or any of the goons on CNN or Fox. I have to take breaks from watching the coverage because it's just too much. I will watch Larry King (that withered old prune) because the show is a tribute to Tim, and Tom Brokaw has a special on NBC tonight. But I imagine I will cry quite a bit. It's just so sad.

Is it wrong that I keep wondering why this couldn't have been Bill O'Reilly?? Am I that evil?

I have been crying all weekend. Tomorrow morning is going to be hard.

I lost my father at the same age that Tim was - 58. And with father's day tomorrow... wow, it is hard.

Politics are usually so partisan and can be full of egos. This is one person we could always trust to give it to us straight. Who can fill that void?
